Urgent Care Services:
Urgent Care
We are a full-service veterinary facility and see emergency cases during our normal business hours. If your pet is having an emergency, please call us immediately.
Laboratory
At Oz Animal Hospital, we have a fully equipped, in-house laboratory to provide rapid results when urgent medical care is needed. Our lab allows us to perform a wide range of tests, including complete blood counts, blood chemistry panels, urinalysis, fecal exams, and more. For any specialized testing, we work closely with trusted external laboratories to ensure comprehensive care.
These diagnostic tests play a vital role in assessing your pet’s overall health and well-being. They help us detect potential issues with internal organs, often revealing early signs of disease before symptoms become apparent.
We recommend annual lab work for all our patients, as research shows that up to 1 in 4 pets may have underlying abnormalities. Early detection is key to successful treatment and management. To support this, we offer affordable annual wellness panels tailored to your pet’s needs.
If your pet develops a growth or infection, our in-house testing capabilities ensure that we can quickly identify the problem and deliver the most appropriate treatment without delay.
Injections
The cutting edge of medical therapy is here! This class of treatments is designed to stimulate the regeneration of healthy tissue in damaged areas. These offer a drug-free alternative to treating a host of inflammatory conditions from arthritis, to skin lesions, infections, wounds, and joint injuries. Fortunately, most pet insurance plans now cover these newer FDA approved treatments!
Radiology
We are able to take high definition digital radiographs immediately and develop them in-house to provide timely diagnoses. In challenging cases, we have the ability to get immediate consultation with a board-certified radiologist. A radiograph (X-ray) is a type of photograph that looks inside the body and reveals information that may not be discernible from the outside. Radiography can be used to evaluate your pet’s internal organs like the heart, lungs, and abdominal organs, as well as bones. When it comes to accurately diagnosing your pet, radiology can be an extremely valuable tool in our diagnostic arsenal.
Ultrasound
An ultrasound exam is a way of looking inside your pet’s body (liver, kidneys, and intestines) without having to perform surgery. The ultrasound machine sends sound waves into the body and then listens for the echoes, the machine then uses these echoes to form a picture of the inside of your pet! Don’t worry, these sound waves are too high in pitch for us, or any of our patients, to hear and produce no harmful effects as a diagnostic tool.
An ultrasound exam helps identify structures in the abdomen not obvious in radiographs, aids in urine sample collection, monitoring and detection of pregnancy, and aids in the detection of disease in the chest.
